Richred Productions founded in 2004 in Cape
Town South Africa, by award winning DOP & cameraman,
Richard Kruger, has earned a reputation in the film and television industry
for high-quality creative images tailor made to fit the needs of client
and broadcaster.
Over 16 years in non-fiction television Richard has worked
directly or indirectly, through production companies around the world,
for some of the biggest
broadcasters, programmes and distributors, including History Channel,
National Geographic,
Discovery, PBS, BBC, CBC, WDR, NDR, ESPN, Animal Planet, Aljazeera English and
many more. Richard has directed and filmed feature documentaries
for SABC and co-produced feature documentaries for WDR & Natural History
Unit Africa. He was DOP/Camera for the first feature film in South Africa
shot
on HD for which he was awarded Best Cinematography for a Feature,
Apollo Awards. The feature film also went on to win the grand prize; The
Golden Camel, awarded for the best overall film in addition to two other prizes,
Best International Feature and Best Director at
Lagos International Film Festival.
Richred Productions has also nurtured production relations
outside of broadcast, producing corporate films, music videos and web
based media
for The American Achievement Academy, Southern Wind, District Six
Museum, Mother City Record Label and others. Behind the scenes & EPK production
is another strong feature of Richred Productions having worked on The
Flood, Doomsday, Star Troopers, Scorpion King, Flashbacks of a Fool,
The Last House
on the Left, Free Willy and others.
Over years Richred Productions has
developed a strong relationship with organizations and charities focused
on bringing
about positive change to those in need, such as Comic & Sports Relief BBC,
Idol Gives Back for American Idols, Malaria No More and Unicef Soccer
Aid. This great opportunity has sent Richard throughout Africa to work
with living
idols, Bono, Celine Dion, Leona Lewis, Dame Kelly Holmes and Will
and Jada Smith as they meet inspirational local people fighting to better
their and
others lives.
